Efficient reliability analysis of complex systems in consideration of imprecision

In this work, the reliability of complex systems under consideration imprecision is addressed. By joining two methods coming from different fields, namely, structural and system reliability, a novel methodology derived. The concepts survival signature, fuzzy probability theory versions non-intrusive stochastic simulation (NISS) are adapted merged, providing an efficient approach to quantify taking into account whole uncertainty spectrum. new combines both advantageous characteristics its original components: 1. significant reduction computational effort due separation property i.e., once structure has been computed, any possible characterization probabilistic part can be tested with no need recompute 2. dramatically reduced sample size NISS methods, for which only single required, avoiding double loop simulations traditionally employed. Beyond merging theoretical aspects, employed analyze functional model axial compressor arbitrary system, accurate results demonstrating efficiency broad applicability.
